Author Visit – Sue Liu

Local author and aid worker Sue Liu has been an Inner West resident for 15 years.

Her business, Zulu Communications has been based on the peninsula for the past eight (first in Darling St and now in Beattie St).

Her self-published book, Accidental Aid Worker grew out of her Inner West community work after the 2004 tsunami.

Sue’s book cover is based on an original oil painting by Hoja that she bought when in Zanzibar in 1999. The image of a puzzle being put together resonated with Sue as she “wanted to tell her story, which is like a puzzle“. She also had an idea about using “pieces of the puzzle as tokens for a crowd funding campaign“.

You can meet and chat with Sue at her author talk at Leichhardt Library on 2nd of June.

Right now she is reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo in tandem with The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k by Sarah Knight.

Sue has a blog and webpage here.
