The NEW Sherlock Holmes book – truly!

I have been taking a delicious trip into the past. My own reading past, I devoured all the Sherlock Holmes stories as a teenager and young adult revelling in the atmosphere of Victorian London and the devilish cunning of the mysteries. And, once again, the past of Victorian London.

Has Conan Doyle come back to life? No, but Anthony Horowitz has spent seven years creating a new Sherlock Holmes mystery titled ‘The House of Silk’ and it is first-rate. I doubt if even the most difficult to please Holmes fan will quibble with Horowitz’s recreation of the most famous detective of all time.

Younger readers will recognise Horowitz as the author of the hugely popular Alex Rider series of books. But make no mistake this is an adult book to be enjoyed as a mystery and as  a wonderful evocation of London of the times. ‘The House of Silk’ is in large format paperback.                     Recommended price is $32.99 but we currently have it at 20% off – just $26.39!

I know this is an older post, but the story I mentioned above can now be downloaded from Neil Gaiman’s website. http://www.neilgaiman.com/p/Cool_Stuff/Short_Stories

Sounds interesting. I’m halfway through The Return of Sherlock Holmes. I thought Neil Gaiman’s short story, A Study in Emerald was a very interesting sci-fi-ish take on the concept too.
