Bricks or clicks? Is it better to buy through the internet or through local shops?
I don’t think there is a ‘one size fits all’ answer to that question. Whatever and whenever we buy there are lots of factors to consider and lots of questions to ask.
Among the questions worth serious thought are, ‘What support does the internet supplier give to your local school’s fund-raising efforts or to your local kid’s netball team?’ ‘How many local people are employed by the internet supplier?’ and ‘How many local kids get their first experience in the workforce at the internet supplier?’
At Brays, for example, we employ 3 local teenagers at weekends along with 5 adults and we make hundreds of donations to local organisations every year.
We can only do this because of your support – that’s the way a community works!
